Taking something for granted is kind of like when you really need to pee and you run to the bathroom and plop yourself down only to find out that whoever used the toilet before you forgot to put the seat down so now you end up inside the toilet instead of on it and you've completely lost the will to pee.

(I'm thinking this only applies to females, but I might be wrong.)

Not that that's ever happened to me.
